Two haiku offerings to syllable god.

Haiku 1

still twilight forest

night brings a diamond blanket

the moon shudders slow

Haiku 2

death comes at twilight

shadows dance in wary peace

light grabs my sad wrist

5 Songs That Can Get You Through The Dark Days

In the worst of times, the Universe sometimes sends you light in the form of a song. It can happen when you are restlessly flipping through the music folders on your battered laptop or in the midst of frenetic shuffling through your MP3 player. Maybe you are walking down a road, and suddenly this unearthly melody fills your ears and drowns your soul. Before you get to thinking it is a voice in your head, you find the song emanating from a cafe, or a shop. At that moment, you tell yourself, “I need that song, I’ve got to have it.” You rush home and Google the few garbled keywords you remember. If you are lucky, you find the song.

Happiness is not matter, create it ex nihilo

I wrote this piece just a day before I saw the Weekly Writing Challenge. Now it seems tailor-made for what I wanted to talk about.

If you are one of those who constantly struggle with your mind, then you probably find it very difficult to be happy. It becomes even more difficult when you look around to see people deriving joy from the smallest of things. When you walk down the street, you hear a random carefree giggle. When you turn to look, you see this girl throwing her head back and laughing at something. It is so easy to feel incapable sometimes.
